Welcome to the home page of BEYOND THE SPOTLIGHT, an employment and economic development program for underserved musicians.

Ascension Insitute of Music's Beyond the Spotlight program is year round with open enrollment for everyone ages 16 and up with a heightened focus on the Sacramento County, California region.

The goal of Beyond the Spotlight is to provide a safe space to assist aspiring, yet struggling musical artists 16 of age and up with the ability to navigate the music industry to become business-savvy professionals who can successfully proceed becoming employed as musicians, and/or become their own business manager as an independent, professional entertainer. Founded in 2019, Ascension Institute of Music (AIM) is 501c3 California based nonprofit organization committed to providing education, guidance, support, life and vocational skills and resource relating to the music industry business based upon actual life and professional experience through job-readiness and/or as self-employed, with how to create a business around the Artist themselves as the Product.
